"We feel cleansed of boredom, indifference, futility and the deadening tyranny of the mundane" - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Striking a blow for free-form cinema and taking animation in new directions, Richard Linklater and animation director Bob Sabiston fashioned one of the most acclaimed films of 2001 with this funny, ingenious film, which Premiere Magazine calls a "must-see."

Filmed as a live action feature, the movie was then transferred digitally to computers where the animators gave the images an entirely new look--an experimental design that suits the film's philosophical musings about the nature of real life and dream life. There's no plot as we follow the travels and discussions of the main character (Wiley Wiggins), but the ideas presented for contemplation are universal and compelling.
