Penderecki: A Celebration

Krzysztof Penderecki is Poland's leading contemporary composer and stands at the very forefront of modern music. From the Alte Oper Frankfurt, one of Europe's most prestigious concert venues, Penderecki himself conducts the Sinfonietta Cracovia in performing four of his own works: "Sinfonietta for Strings," "Viola Concerto," "Capriccio for Oboe and Strings" and "Concerto for Flute and Orchestra." Also featured is his acclaimed "Quartet for Clarinet and Strings," specially staged under studio conditions. Included are interviews with the composer.
