Buster Crabbe fights to save African natives and the woman he loves from a deadly epidemic in this heroic adventure loaded with remarkable wildlife footage. Dr. Robert Hammond (Buster Crabbe), known by the natives as "Junga," is met in the wilderness by a safari of explorers searching for the legendary "City of the Dead". The expedition encounters rampaging lions, deadly snakes, and wrathful headhunters, while Junga races the clock to find a cure to a deadly jungle fever.

Co-starring with Crabbe is his old Flash Gordon nemesis Charles Middleton, who will forever be remembered for his role as Ming the Merciless.
