Soldier On: The Story of the 2002 Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears went through a season of change, on and off the field, in 2002. the team played all of its home games at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois, while the new Soldier Field was under construction on Chicago's lakefront. Injuries led to weekly lineup changes as 47 different players started for Chicago. The Bears finished the season with a 4-12 record, but the long term outlook for the team remains bright. In 2002, the Bears fielded three All-Stars and developed a wealth of young talent. Linebacker Brian Urlacher continued his dominant defensive play in 2002, setting the Bears single season record for tackles with 214. Urlacher also was named to the Pro Bowl for the third consecutive season. Center Olin Kreutz helped stabilize the Bears offensive line and earned his second consecutive start in the Pro Bowl. Wide receiver Mary Booker caught 97 - the second player in team history to record back to back 1,000 yard receiving seasons.

The Bears are returning to Chicago in 2003 to play in their new state-of-the-art stadium and under the leadership of head coach Dick Jauron they look to Soldier On, and once again challenge for a playoff spot.
