"Fascinating... hypnotic. One can't break away from it!" - Vincent Canby, The New York Times

In Chinese Roulette Fassbinder explores the emotional universe of an estranged couple's disabled daughter, who fashions a surprise encounter for her parents at an isolated country mansion - with their lovers in tow. The daughter, Angela, shows up shortly afterwards with her mute nanny, adding to the tension, and a truth-telling game called "Chinese Roulette," begins. Fassbinder expertly choreographs the claustrophobic action with cinematographer Michael Ballhaus, and longtime Fassbinder collaborator, composer Peer Raben.
