At the insistence of his wife, the renowned Dutch artist Rembrandt agrees to paint a group portrait of the Amsterdam Musketeer Militia. But before he can finish his newest masterpiece, he discovers a murder plot involving his subjects. Determined to expose the conspiracy, Rembrandt builds his accusation in the form of the commissioned painting - The Night Watch - a decision which costs him everything. Directed by Peter Greenaway and starring Martin Freeman, Emily Holmes, Jodhi May, Eva Birthistle and Toby Jones.
