The Doctor and Romana arrive on the moon of Delta Magna, where they encounter a massive creature named Kroll and become embroiled in a conflict between the native Swampies and a human refinery crew. Their quest for the fifth segment of the Key to Time leads them into the heart of the mystery surrounding Kroll.
