Child star Shirley Temple plays a poor orphan girl, Sara Crewe, left in boarding school by her father before he goes to war.When Captain Crewe doesn't return she is mistreated by the cruel head-mistress, Miss Minchin, and begins making the rounds of hospitals searching for her father and entertaining the wounded men.
